Meet your coach

Passion precedes purpose

Meet your coach, Omar Chacon (Surfski Guru). Represented Puerto Rico in flat water kayaking from 2003-2009 at a national and international level. Shortly after, discovered surfski and fell in love with it. Omar obtained his best results at the Gorge Downwind Champs in 2021 with a 4th place in his age group and recently won silver medal in the 2022 Surfski Pan American Games celebrated in Mexico.

I have been blessed to meet many accomplished paddlers through the years and have been able to attend multiple surfski races around the US and Puerto Rico, where I have been exposed to challenging downwind conditions and with time have become a master of the surfski.

I feel that I am ready to give back to the community, help grow the sport and help new and upcoming paddlers become their own surfski guru.

Vision

To accelerate the growth of surfski in the United States and Puerto Rico by introducing surfski paddling to as many people as possible.

Mission

To decrease the barriers to entry to the sport of surfski by providing access to gear at no cost for those trying the sport for the first time as well as providing guidance on how to chose the right ski, paddle and accessories.

We are also starting the first kids school in Tampa Bay, florida and are currently looking for sponsors to help us obtain the right gear.
